I mean the next book is called The Last Graduate.Īlso why do you guys think about the warning at the end. Make it less dangerous / maybe straight up end the school. I also think El and friends will considerably change how the school works.
Though that seems so obvious I almost want the prophecy to play more straightforward. I'm thinking the prophecy of her bringing destruction to the enclaves can be interpreted as her destroying the system of enclaves and replacing them with something better. Though I guess the obliviousness is part of the whole point.
I hope he's a bit less oblivious in the next book. Except Orion, who puts out the best himbo vibes. Didn't stand out that much except in how their interaction with El highlights El's change in character. The only place I actively disliked the exposition was when it interrupted the dialog between characters. It helps the reader understand where El's very strong (read caustic) personality is coming from. However I feel like all that exposition about the world and El's past is actually needed for El's character development to fully hit the mark. I will admit the book is very exposition heavy (especially in the first half). I also really enjoyed the main character and her development throughout the novel. But in A Deadly Education the whole point is that the school is dangerous, and there aren't any teachers. In most other books I've always low-key had the complaint that the teachers seem super incompetent and almost out to kill the students. I enjoyed the way she did the magic school trope. What do you guys think of this new series by Novik?
